MISSION STATEMENT – HOMEWARD BOUND Large Breed Rescue is a foster-based, nonprofit organization devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of large breed dogs in need. Our mission is to provide each dog brought in with compassionate medical care, behavioral support, individualized rehabilitation and love in a safe, and nurturing foster environment, until they are fully prepared to thrive in a permanent, loving home.

We are equally committed to community education, advocacy, and partnerships that promote responsible ownership and reduce the neglect, abandonment, and surrender of large breed dogs. By relying on a dedicated network of foster families and volunteers instead of a physical shelter, we are able to offer dogs the stability, care, and personal attention they need during their journey to recovery.
